Employee Relations Manager

A world renowned FTSE500 business are seeking an Employee Relations Manager to join them to cover the EMEA region.

 

The successful Employee Relations Manager will be very experienced in Employee relations and work on a wide range of projects in a proactive and reactive basis. You will need to work closely with the wider business and HR teams in order to identify and address employee concerns early and work to deescalate and provide managers support to fix problems early on before they become of great business significance and impact.

 

You will also need to work on business critical and urgent responses in challenging employee situations. You will be working on time sensitive urgent cases conducting workplace investigations and managing process for conflict resolution.

 

This role will require a significant amount of travel to international offices in order to conduct workplace investigations and to manage relationships and provide training to EMEA internal clients.

 

The role

  • Work with business leaders and HR teams to create a positive ER programme and establish best practice procedures.
  • Work with business managers on how to identify issues early and establish procedures to help identify future problems such as listening sessions, focus groups and one to one coaching
  • You will assist the business with specialist training and expertise to help them manager ER issues early with your support
  • Review and revise policies and procedures as necessary to establish long term positive employee relations, such as redesigning people programmes and policies.
  • You will be reporting into the Head of Employee Relations and support one of the largest most successful business units across EMEA region.
  • You can be based in several EU locations such as Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid, Bucharest (and many others) and you will be expected to travel to other offices for about 30% of your time

 

Requirements

  • 7 years within Employee relations, HR or labor or employment law and ideally 5 years minimum solely in a role dedicated to Employee or Labor relations.
  • Bachelors degree or Law degree required and additional industry specific training would be a bonus
  • The successful employee relations manager will be a proactive character, have strong decision making ability and sound judgement to protect the business. They will be commercial and also fair and show a high level of emotional intelligence in managing complex matters
  • You will have gravitas and credibility to work in a fast paced matrix international structure comfortably working with very senior levels within a big FTSE500 business.
  • Experience of employment law across the EMEA region and experience of managing Employee relations in a number of international geographies.
  • Experience coaching training and advising HR and business leaders on conflict resolution
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion
  • Ability to work with data to analyse and establish patterns and trends and diagnose root causes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish long term relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing high priority projects and cases simultaneously
  • Experience designing and running training
  • Experience of work councils or trade unions would be useful
